The 21th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2026

Abstracts Submission Deadline: July 31, 2026

We invite you to submit papers on a wide range of topics related to the overarching theme of multi-hazards for presentation at the 21st APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2026. Submissions addressing any aspect of multi-hazards are welcome, with particular interest in research findings or case studies on the following topics:
  1. Climate-related Hazards and Climate Change Impacts
  2. Geological Hazards and Infrastructure Vulnerability
  3. Systemic, Cascading, and Compound Hazards
  4. Community-Based Resilience and Risk Communication
  5. Resilient Urban and Regional Planning
  6. Public Health, Vulnerability, and Social Equity
  7. Economic Resilience and Governance for Risk Reduction
  8. Big Data, Digital Technology, and AI for Resilience
Abstracts must be written in English and must not exceed 500 words. Abstract should consist of background, data and methodology, potential contributions, and keywords.

The 21st APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2026

Dates:       December  3–5, 2025

Location:   Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea

Theme:     Enhancing Community Resilience and Capacity for Multi-Hazard:  

Policy, Planning, and Technology

The Symposium will bring together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond to exchange knowledge and advance solutions in disaster risk reduction and resilience.

Hosted by Yonsei University, the symposium continues APRU’s long-standing commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration on multi-hazards research, addressing critical challenges such as climate change, disaster preparedness, and community resilience.
